Lecturer Advocation New Business Development - HAS University

For our International Food & Agribusiness (IFA) programme we are looking for Lecturer ‘Advocating New Business Development’. With solid marketing experience in the international agri-food business sector.

Location ’s-Hertogenbosch, the Netherlands

The appointment is for 0.8 fte, initially for one year, leading to a permanent appointment following a positive appraisal. We also provide new lecturers with excellent support, in particular candidates without specific teaching experience and/or teaching qualification. 

Background
The 4-year Bachelor degree programme International Food & Agribusiness offers an inspirational, international learning environment and focusses on the development of sustainable food systems worldwide, and more specific on sustainable food and agribusiness in developing countries and emerging economies. IFA graduates therefore have practical business experience as well as detailed expertise in the field of increasing sustainability in supply chains. Moreover they have basic technological knowledge of one domain in specific: Primary production or Food processing and consumption, with a link to the development of circular economy as related to the agri-food sector.

Job description
The International Food & Agribusiness (IFA) study programme inspires students to become game changers within the scope of the international agri-food sector. Increasing sustainability and creating a positive impact is the core competence of our graduates.


As our new lecturer your tasks will include:

  • Providing case driven and project-based education including lectures, within the expertise of marketing focused on international new business development;
  • Guiding students during their (international) internships and graduation assignments in close collaboration with the professional work field;
  • Coaching students;
  • Executing projects together with (business) partners in the international agri-food sector;
  • Maintaining an international network and translating actual new business and marketing developments into relevant education;
  • Coordinating continuous improvement of education in collaboration with team members;
  • Contributing to the further development of the business learning line within the IFA teaching programme, which is based on an interdisciplinary approach set in an international classroom.


We are looking for a colleague who has:

  • A background in international agri-food marketing and sales, both B2B and B2C in an on- and offline setting;
  • Experience with new business development gained in an international context also outside the country of origin (at least 5 years);
  • Passionate about innovation, a “game changer attitude” and strong affinity with sustainable agri-food systems;
  • Proven experience in training (young) professionals;
  • An excellent command of English, both written and spoken (at least level CEF: C1);
  • Preferably with experience in (or affinity with) student guidance;
  • Academic level, in Marketing/Management/Business Administration, or a related field.

General
Working conditions are in accordance with the Dutch Collective Labour Agreement for Higher Professional Education. Remuneration depends on your education and experience, with a maximum of scale 11 (€ 5.026,85).
